Artist Statement: My number one goal is to bring peace and calm to you, the viewer. “One has to live with the art they purchase”, she maintains, so why not make every effort to bring harmony back into the lives of you, the viewer. My wildlife paintings are a constant reminder of quiet times in the past when we were lucky enough to be surrounded by nature and witness a little of it’s glory.
Biography: Cherie is a native of S. Louisiana, is married to a Canadian, residing 5 months in Mexico and 7 months in the Okanagan. Art has been central to her life since her formative years. She received a BFA with honors from LSU. Her career has included graphic design, art direction, marketing and advertising consulting.
She has taught adult art classes for the last 23 years.
Her paintings primarily focus on wildlife. Her keen use of color and design sense make her subjects come to life and tell their stories.
She also is a trained silversmith, creating one-of-a kind pieces using unique stones.
