Artist Statement: My painting celebrates the natural world of plants and animals. Most recently I have been exploring the coastal regions of British Columbia and its rain forest. Wildflowers and other native plants populate my moody landscapes. Shorebirds and sea creatures have also begun to appear in my work as I explore, hike, kayak and ferry my way through the magic of the west coast environment. I enjoy working on cut plywood to add the element of an organically shaped substrate to the story of the plant and animal world.
