Artist Statement: I currently have an online business available to patrons through my website, fb business page and Instagram. I owned a gallery on Front Street for 6 years until Covid closed the doors in 2020. I am primarily a figurative artist painting people and animals in their element. I capture moments in life as well as the beautiful landscapes in the Okanagan and in my travels. I am available for commission doing portraits of family, pets and commemorative paintings of times past and present. I work primarily in acrylic, watercolor and mixed media. My work has been displayed at the Penticton General Hospital for over 2 years in a number of shows there. I have been a juried active member of the Canadian Federation of Artists, Okanagan Similkameen Chapter for over 12 years taking part in events and shows throughout the Okanagan and BC. My art hangs in homes and public places across North America and abroad. I have prints, cards and original art available.

Biography: Julie-Ann has taken continuous learning in art from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and from numerous well-known artists in Canada. Training and workshops include from artists like Robert Genn, Kindrie Grove, Alan Wylie, Ann Marie Harvey, David Langevin, Anita McComas, Terry Issac and Jan Crawford. Additionally, self learning through purchase of DVD courses and books from many more masters. The focused learning encouraged her to share her art which she has done by being active in FCA, events and local galleries

She has had 3 paintings in the Penticton Hospital Healing Art shows. Julie-Ann has been in over 20 juried and non-juried shows. As an owner of a popular gallery for 6yrs she successfully sold works in acrylic, watercolor and mixed media and promoted the works of emerging and local artists.
Artist Statement:

Inspired by everyday life I try to translate it into a wordless interaction with the viewer. I get the most pleasure out of painting when I can capture a moment of emotion like a sunset, an expression or a tender moment with a person or animal.
