Artist Statement: I have been doing stained glass for more than forty years and I am primarily a self-taught artist with the exception of some specialty courses. I mostly enjoy creating Art Deco and Victorian pieces but often get involved in abstract or contemporary design projects as driven by the customer’s interests. On occasion I like to create a piece solely from clear textured and architectural glass so as to engage Mother Nature in the colouring process. The results are very satisfying as each day and weather change presents a new visual treat. When possible, I recycle old glass as well as wood window frames integrating this material into new projects. I very much enjoy participation in craft fairs, art festivals and markets as it provides an opportunity to meet interesting people, to make new friends, and to offer something for all budgets directly to the public.
I work exclusively in the copper foil medium and my cat Marley who spent much of his life on my workbench supervising all activities inspired the name.
