Artist Statement: My artistic practice is an ongoing journey of exploration, a way of processing. It’s not about making a fixed statement. In life and in my art, I'm never interested in that. As I paint in an intuitive way, I do so with an attitude of curiosity and receptivity toward what is stirring below the surface of sensory perception.

Creative impulses inside me grow wildly - branching out in all directions. Ideas collide, taking over the cramped studio in my mind. They grow big and bulky, too heavy for me to bear. They are always taking up space, so my art practice is not rooted in the act of making, but in the inward habit of cultivating these ideas, of my attempt to make sense of them. The painting process itself becomes a tangible manifestation of this interior process, of adding and subtracting, one step forward, two back. Every painting is a conversation, idea, argument, or lament in progress. Nothing is fixed, everything is turning and folding in on itself, bobbing above and below the surface of consciousness, sometimes sinking, sometimes rising above.
