Artist Statement: Painting in encaustic alerts your senses. The sweet smell of the beeswax the vivid and luscious colors the feel of the textures. There is a spiritual connection to the bees and nature when using a natural substance to create. The ancient art form inspires me in its versatility.

Biography: Mindy has been painting in encaustic since 2008 and has participated in workshops with Canadian and International instructors like Lora Murphy, Michelle Belto, Kathryn Bevier and many more. As a longtime member and volunteer with Canwax West she was also a student of Thea Haubrich who brought encaustic painting methods to the Okanagan. Inspired by our natural beauty Mindy creates landscapes and explores in multi media using oil paints beeswax and damar as medium. Her works are shown at James Hibbert pottery studio in Naramata, BC.
