Artist Statement: I started watercolour painting in the winter of 2018. The expression “boon dancing” in Arizona was the first destination for our retirement. Now there is not a lot to do in the desert and I found that I needed a compact and portable hobby to fill in some time. I purchased watercolour paints, brushes, and a sketchbook and started to draw and paint the landscape we stopped at. By the time I came home, I had a shoebox full of pictures and I was hooked. I love to paint, so in order to continue I knew I had to find a way to continue painting. My idea was, if a person wanted to purchase a card for someone, for an event, celebration, or just because, why not have it mean something to the receiver? To the gardener - flowers, to the fisherman - a fish or lake scene, hunter - wildlife.

Wendy’s creations evolved into cards, tags, bookmarks, and magnets. I can try and paint any picture you have in mind and it will be a one of a kind original artwork. This will provide a special touch. They can enjoy their card, keep the painted part, or throw it away - it still serves the purpose.
