We are hiring! Join our team this summer
We are hiring two positions for our Creative Kids Summer Art Adventures: A Summer Camp Program Leader and Summer Camp Program Assistant.
Job start date: June 7, 2021
Job end date: September 3, 2021
The Penticton Art Gallery is seeking two experienced, innovative, team-oriented, and highly motivated people for our Creative Kids Art Adventures Program. These positions will be responsible for the planning and coordination of the Penticton Art Gallery’s Creative Kids Art Adventures Program. The successful candidates will develop and implement an ongoing summer program running out of the Gallery during the summer months to serve the community's youth and introduce them to a positive and creative arts experience. The program will introduce youth to art in all its mediums, be geared towards the history of art, and coincide with our ongoing exhibitions that will be running over the summer months. The participant will have extensive interaction with the Gallery Director/Curator, Administrator, and Education and Programming Coordinator, along with the rest of the Gallery staff to develop and promote a consistent, dynamic, and educational summer art program. See our weekly themes here: http://pentictonartgallery.com/creative-kids-art-adventures
Our ideal candidates are those with a high academic standing, a keen interest in the arts, and are able to work both independently and with others. Special consideration will be given to those who are currently undertaking, or planning to enroll in, an arts or education program. As this program will deal mainly with children and youth, the candidate will have to undergo a background check with the R.C.M.P. prior to commencing work. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of computer systems, including Internet and word processing, although these skills can be further developed through the project. Our most commonly used language is English, although a secondary language would be an asset.
These positions are funded by Young Canada Works and Canada Summer Jobs.
The Penticton Art Gallery is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from self-identified members of underserved communities as well as visible and invisible minority groups.
