BOBI MCMILLAN
Bobi McMillan was born and raised in Penticton B.C. in a relaxed and natural environment with time for exploring and discovery. Never one to tolerate idleness, her unique style of art started by doodling during long-winded teen telephone calls.
Time passed and the years flew by with education, a career in nursing and family filling her days. Middle years brought reprieve and Bobi found time to develop her returning urge to doodle. This flourished along with her brother's encouragement to try her hand at pottery. The past four years of guild membership have been full of watching, listening, reading and doing. Bobi is enjoying the discovery of hidden energy and a multitude of ideas.
MEGHAN HILDEBRAND
Meghan Hildebrand’s paintings are constant exercises in innovation and improvisation. With a unique vocabulary of symbols, she translates her northern coastal landscape into electrifying dreamscape scenarios, each image often alluding to a larger narrative.
Despite frequent reinvention, her works often return to familiar themes - the childhood dream, a sense of journey over land, and the ‘personality’ of place. Defined points of interest, doorways and inlets, invite the viewer to enter the image and join the narrative.
