PENTICTON & DISTRICT COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL
The Penticton & District Community Arts Council is seeking artists of all kinds to create online content for our community during the COVID-19 situation.
The Penticton & District Community Arts Council has been hard at work updating our Arts Matter Program to support local artists who are now creating digital and online content for our community. The Arts Council is a strong advocate for artists being paid for their time and we are continuing to support and communicate this belief during the COVID-19 pandemic.
VANCOUVER ART GALLERY
In response to the temporary closure of the exhibition spaces due to the current global health pandemic, the Vancouver Art Gallery has launched Art Connects, a new series of online gatherings that encourage dialogue and connection in the era of physical distancing.
Every Tuesday and Friday, the Gallery will stream live and interactive conversations into your homes, featuring guests from local and international arts communities. Everyone is invited to join through the webinar platform, Zoom.
ROYAL BC MUSEUM
Tell Us Your COVID-19 Story. We’re all in uncharted territory.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the lives of almost everyone in BC. It’s disrupted our daily routines, changed the way we interact in relationships and sparked unexpected shifts in community life. The museum and archives is hoping to gather BC’s pandemic stories in real time and build a longer-term collecting project to capture its legacy. We want to hear from you. What do you think should be collected, and how do you think BC communities will want to remember this historic time?
GLENBOW MUSEUM
While the museum may be temporarily closed, we still want to create opportunities for you to experience art outside of Glenbow’s walls. We know art can provide inspiration, beauty and, most importantly, a sense of connection to the people and world around us.
We also know that having access to art and culture is an important part of our daily lives. While we can’t be doing that in person at the moment, we’re planning on bringing you the best of Glenbow online — through virtual tours, online collections, educational videos, activity ideas, webinars and more.
THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART
The Artist Project, published by Phaidon in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, contains thought-provoking interviews with the 120 artists included in the award-winning online series. Featuring 405 color illustrations, the publication showcases The Met’s artworks alongside works by the contemporary artists, allowing readers to discover a rich web of visual connections that spans cultures and millennia.
THE COURTAULD INSTITUTE OF ART
The Courtauld Institute of Art is launching Open Courtauld Hour, a month-long programme of digital mini festivals, every Thursday evening from 30 April to 21 May. An action-packed hour of short talks from expert speakers, live performances and explorations of individual works, Open Courtauld Hour is open to everyone and will explore and celebrate The Courtauld’s collection, research in art history, curation and conservation in creative new ways.
RIJKSMUSEUM
Now that the museum is closed, our curators are working from home, just like the rest of us. But we can’t stop them from sharing their knowledge! In our new series #Rijksmuseumfromhome our curators are shining their lights on our famous works from the comfort of their homes.
