JACK CAMPBELL

Raised in New Westminster B.C., Jack was a painter and graphic designer, graduating as an honours student from the Vancouver School of Art (Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design). For fourteen years Jack taught drawing and painting workshops for the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design Outreach Program and the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson. He taught at various summer schools and art organizations throughout the province. 

Jack worked from his Saturna Island studio and gallery specializing in watercolour and acrylic painting as well as paper sculptures and murals. He painted scenes of Satuna Island and the west coast, as well as figurative compositions.

In his paintings, as well as his paper sculpture designs, Jack was intrigued by shapes. He referred to his approach as "exploring with pieces of colour." Jack's work stresses the life of shapes as key elements in a composition.

Jack had over 30 solo exhibitions in British Columbia of his drawings, paintings, and paper sculptures. He participated in many group shows in Western Canada and Washington. His work is in private and corporate collections throughout North America and Europe.
