PERMANENT COLLECTION
PATRICIA BURTCH
NATIONALITY: Canadian
DATES: b. 1950
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Patricia Burtch was born in Kelowna on December 13th, 1950. She later resided in Naramata. She studied at the Kootenay School of Art, however, she is primarily self-taught. She prefers working in pencil, which, though her own style, offers great versatility. The subject matter for her work is derived from books, nature, Trish's personal life and her imagination. The subjects of her drawings are mostly people, animals and the country life. Her love for nature, her powers of observation and her skill with the pencil are apparent in her drawings. She has exhibited in Banff, Kelowna, and Penticton. Each of her works takes 85-90 hours to complete.
Her work in our Permanent Collection was purchased by the Selection Committee in 1972.
